What we do
Social enterprise expertise
The School for Social Entrepreneurs Hampshire
Action Hampshire is proud to host The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) and the Lloyds Bank Start Up Programme, bringing together people who want to make a difference through social enterprise.
Lord Michael Young founded SSE in 1997, and it’s grown to a network of schools across the UK, Canada and India.
The programme is delivered in 12 locations across the UK. Hampshire SSE runs the programme in Winchester and takes entrepreneurs from Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton, Isle of Wight, Surrey, Sussex, Wiltshire, Dorset and Berkshire.
Whether you are looking to get started on a new idea or want to grow an established organisation, the Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Programme offers:
- A free learning programme (14 learning days, spread over a year)
- A grant of £1,000 (money you don’t pay back)
- A support network
It will help you develop as a leader and obtain the skills needed to take your organisation to the next stage.
SSE Hampshire Fellow Heather Evans shares what she learnt at the School for Social Entrepreneurs:
SSE has given Bespoke Biking input and training on vital day to day skills for developing a sustainable business and the ability to buy equipment and develop our website. It was amazing to be part of a cohort, being with other students and having a network of fellows has meant we join a group of like-minded folk who can help each other along and have a laugh in the process!
