Changing the future, one business at a time
For almost 70 years, Action Hampshire has been supporting not-for-profit organisations to deliver great services to local people and communities; speak up for the changes they would like to see; and shape the future of where they live and work.
Social entrepreneurs, like all entrepreneurs, are not distinguished by their ideas they are distinguished by what they do about those ideas. Social entrepreneurs aim to run successful businesses but the business is just a means to an end – the end being to bring about change. Social entrepreneurs focus on things they care about and on the difference they want to make. And when they make a profit, there is a benefit to society. That is why Action Hampshire is proud to support social entrepreneurs.
These pages will give information, ideas and insights into running a social enterprise or developing an enterprising way of working.
Do you want to take a more entrepreneurial approach to running your organisation or are you a new or aspiring social entrepreneur?
The School for Social Entrepreneurs Hampshire
The School for Social Entrepreneurs Hampshire provides an exciting and challenging programme that brings together people who want to make a difference through social enterprise. It’s practical, rather than academic – all that’s required is a good idea and the drive and commitment to make it happen.
The Community Business Trade Up Programme
The Community Business Trade Up Programme is run by the School for Social Entrepreneurs, in partnership with Power to Change. Like all our social enterprise courses, the CBTU programme is focused on the practical skills and knowledge that will help your organisation to focus on growing income from trading, to improve impact and sustainability.
Inspiring Enterprise Project
Inspiring Enterprise Project is a free training and support programme that aims to get people who are out of work into self-employment as a social entrepreneur.
