Fratton Big Local
The National Lottery Big Lottery Fund has allocated £200m into a Local Trust to form up to 150 Big Local Project areas. Fratton, in Portsmouth, was successfully selected as one of these areas and the Fratton Big Local (FBL) Partnership was subsequently awarded £1m in funds to work together with the community of residents to make Fratton a better place to live, work and play.
They achieve this by seeking opportunities and projects that enhance community life and/or improve the environment in Fratton.
Action Hampshire is proud to be the Locally Trusted Organisation for Fratton Big Local. A Locally Trusted Organisation (LTO) is required to receive, hold and process funds on behalf of the Partnership. The FBL delivery team is also employed by Action Hampshire as valued members of our extended team.

Fratton Big Local have worked with both the schools I am Business Manager with. They are always willing to involve the schools in projects they are working on. Examples of this are the ‘One day in Fratton’ writing competition where they arranged for an author to go into the Junior school and run writing workshops. The pupils at the Secondary school were involved in the planning and design of the Fratton Rec redevelopment.
