Training and networking for community buildings
We work with the Councils of Voluntary Service and district / borough councils across Hampshire to run regular events where you can meet and share ideas with other people running community halls and centres. For more information please get in touch. Make sure you’re on our mailing list so you get information about forthcoming meetings – please contact Kevin Sawers (see the purple box to the right).
The first two events are for anyone involved in running a community building across the Hampshire area. There’ll be time for general sharing of challenges and ideas, along with a focus on one or two specific topics (suggestions welcome).
County-wide online briefing and networking meetings:
Thurs 26 May, 10.00-12.00 and Weds 13 Jul, 1.00-3.00
The first of these, on 26 May, will focus on getting more people involved in running your building and helping out with activities. There’ll also be time to ask questions and discuss other topics / issues, so do send in suggestions.
The events below are focused on specific areas of Hampshire, often with speakers from the local council or other local groups.
Fareham: Tuesday 21 June, 10.00-12.00 (venue to be confirmed)
Basingstoke and Deane: Tuesday 21 June, 12.00-2.00 (online)
New Forest: Next meeting in September, details to be confirmed
Other areas to be confirmed
You can connect online with your peers – sharing ideas and experiences with other people involved in running a community building via the Basecamp online forum and file-sharing platform. You can communicate directly with trustees and staff from community venues across the Hampshire area. Just send us a quick email and we’ll invite you to join.
We’ve produced a beginners’ guide to Basecamp, to make it as easy as we can for everyone to join in, even if you’re not confident with computers! Download the guide below:
