Spotlight on: SSE Hampshire Fellow Sonia Wilson
Populo, a social enterprise, was set up by SSE Hampshire fellow, Sonia Wilson in 2013 to provide affordable, quality human resources support to small charities and social enterprises.
Sonia has recently been supporting a number of small charities and social enterprises who are employing their first employee(s) e.g. Shine Cancer Support, The Pink Place, The Organic Cookery School and Nature Therapy CIC ensuring they have in place the HR essentials.
Sonia can help you in a range of ways, for example:
• Ensuring that your employment contracts and worker agreements are up to date, fit for purpose and comply with current legislation
• Reviewing your HR policies and procedures to make sure that you have all the essentials required when employing staff and that they reflect current best practice and employment law, and
• Advising you on any specific people issues that you may have, e.g. long term sickness absence of a member of staff, how to follow a proper and fair procedure for making staff redundant, or how to manage an employee’s poor performance.
From January to end of February 2015, Sonia will be providing free telephone HR advice every Wednesday from 10:00-12:00 to small charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations.
