HCC's Rural Communities Fund now open
Hampshire County Council has combined four existing grants schemes into one to make it easier for rural communities to apply for funding.
What you can apply for
- community-led flood alleviation – you can apply for up to £10k to help deliver solutions to flooding in your local area, that will benefit both people & property eg improving drainage; feasibility studies.
- countryside access – you can apply for up to £5k to help deliver improvements to your local access network eg surface improvements to your local paths; changing stiles to gates.
- rural retailers & community enterprises – you can apply for up to £10k to help your business/enterprise grow, increase productivity and improve the services that are offered to your local community eg improvements to sales area to allow a greater range of stock; setting up a shop in the village hall.
- other – you can apply for up to £5k towards other projects that will help build community resilience and/or encourage self-help eg supporting vulnerable and older people; innovative transport solutions to access services.
When to apply
Applications for up to £5k are accepted throughout the year. There are three deadlines in 2017 for applications over £5k – 21 July; 8 September; 8 December.
