Covenant Fund – opens 13 August 2015


The Covenant Fund is available through government, trusts, lottery distributors, European funding and other sources. Its aim is to improve the lives of people in armed forces communities. There is £10 million available, and this year funding is being focussed on projects which promote and support:

  1. community integration
  2. support to the armed forces community
  3. veterans in the criminal justice system

You may apply for a:

  • small grant- up to £20,000
  • large grant- between £20,001 and £500,000

Covenant Fund small grants
One off grants of between £1,000 and £20,000 are available for projects lasting up to 12 months. The small grants programme will be a single stage process with a short application form and you may apply during round 1 or 2.
Round 1 opens on 13 August and closes for applications on 17 September
Round 2 opens on 28 October and closes for applications on 17 December

Covenant Fund large grants
Grants of up to £500,000 are available for projects lasting up to three years.
Expressions of interest opens on 13 August and close on 24 September

Hampshire County Council advise that you speak to them first before submitting an application to this fund so that they can assist you in ensuring that your bid has the highest chance of success. Depending on where your group is based, it may also be worth checking information on the Portsmouth City Council website.
