Training and networking for community halls and centres
We have training and networking opportunities coming soon for trustees and staff of organisations that run a community building.
Through September, we have several networking meetings across the county for you to meet with counterparts from other halls / centres and share ideas. These district networking meetings take place in community buildings and are all about enabling you to make links with your peers and benefit from one another’s experiences.
Click here (look for the heading ‘Networking meetings’) for all the details and contact details for the person organising each meeting. Do come along if you can. Each meeting is mainly aimed at organisations in that district, but you’re welcome to join in with a neighbouring district if the local meeting date doesn’t work for you.
Then we have a training session on Funding Your Community Building. This will address fundraising activities, applying for grants, and other issues around improving your organisation’s financial situation. The session is on Tuesday 2 October from 10:00am to 12:30pm at our office in central Winchester.
Places are limited and cost just £25 each for Action Hampshire members (£35 for non-members) if you book by midday on Tuesday 4 September so go ahead and book your place! Also make sure you have seen our local funding guide for community buildings.
We’ve also booked in a training session on Thursday 25 October, again from 10:00am to 12:30pm at our Winchester office. The topic for this session hasn’t been set so please let us know what you would like training on. This could be practical building management issues, the basics of being a charity trustee, an introduction to the CIO charity structure, or fundraising and grants again. Email us or call 01962 857358 with your suggestions.
