Local networking for community halls and centres

We work with our partners at Hampshire’s district Councils for Voluntary Service and Borough / District Councils to run local networking sessions for people who manage village halls, community centres, and similar buildings.

Inaugural meetings in Basingstoke & Deane and Hart / Rushmoor took place earlier in June. We had some guest speakers explaining what they offer to community buildings, and all the building reps had a chance to share successes and difficulties from their patch. Our thanks to all who came to the two sessions.

The next meetings in these two areas have been arranged for September and our website has a full list of meetings (scroll down to the Networking section) coming up soon. More will be confirmed over the next few weeks. These networks are a great way of making useful links and finding out how other people tackle the issues you’re facing with managing your building. Do join in if you can!

Connect with your counterparts online

You can also link up with other trustees and managers in a ‘virtual’ way using Basecamp, our online message board and file-sharing system. This will give you the opportunity to ask for recommendations of suppliers and contractors, find out how others deal with issues you’re struggling with, and get new ideas for running your building more effectively.

Just email us if you’d like to join Basecamp and we’ll send you an invitation.
