An inspirational session with community co-operatives

Action Hampshire staff, along with our trustee Rosalind Rutt, took part in a Rural Community Ownership event earlier in November. They heard about several community-owned businesses in Hampshire and how the Plunkett Foundation helps such organisations to get started and then flourish. Community-owned enterprises are all about people working together to create enterprise and generate money to solve local issues. There are community-owned shops, pubs, cafes, woodlands, bakeries… It’s a growing sector so who knows what other businesses will start up over the coming years?

If you are business-minded and want to use those skills to benefit your community then see how the Plunkett Foundation can help make your ideas a reality. We would also love to hear of your plans – please email Kevin Sawers or call 01962 857358.

The event was organised by the Plunkett Foundation and Action Hampshire, and funded by English Rural Housing Association and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
