Village Halls Week 2021
Running from Monday 25 to Friday 29 January
Next week is Village Halls Week, a celebration of the volunteers who run England’s 10,000+ village halls and the difference they make to their communities.
The 2021 campaign, led by our national partner charity ACRE, will be a celebration of how village halls are survivors. Many have been bringing people together in rural communities since the 1920s. And in the past year, the volunteers who manage these buildings have shown great determination and resilience in the face of Coronavirus, negotiating lockdowns and putting in place Covid-19 Secure measures so they could continue supporting their local community.
There are several online events that you can join in with through the week. All the details are on ACRE’s website and here is a summary:

An introduction to the National Rural Touring Forum – for venues and artists who are interested in getting involved in rural performing arts. Sign up at this link.

Village Halls Centenary Domesday Book
ACRE have set up a ‘Domesday Book’ to gather stories and evidence of the impact that village halls have in communities across England. It would be great to have many Hampshire halls represented so please add your contribution here – and see a preview of the Book below!
