Mike joined Action Hampshire in March 2017 as a board member of it’s commercial subsidiary ‘Activate’. He joined the main Trust Board in March 2019 and chairs ‘Enterprise’ the commercial committee.
Mike’s background is a successful turnaround CEO in multi million pound television production businesses, employing around 1,500 staff. From 2001 until 2008 he was CEO BBC Resources, prior to that he had held equivalent roles in commercial television. Mike’s passion is team leadership, exploiting commercial opportunities and working with staff to achieve change. He has also had extensive experience as an HR Director working with trades unions and others on issue such as TUPE and pension matters. A Londoner by background he fell in love with Hampshire after joining the local ITV station in the 1980s.
Mike set up his own consultancy business in 2009 before becoming a Winchester City Councillor where he was a cabinet member with responsibility for communities. He left politics and business in 2016 to concentrate on the not for profit sector.
