Meet our new CEO!
Action Hampshire is pleased to announce that Leah Campbell has been appointed as Chief Executive of the charity, from 1 June 2022.
Leah is currently Head of Charitable Services at Action Hampshire and has a background in youth work and humanitarian aid. She has worked as a researcher, facilitator, campaigner and Trustee in the not-for-profit sector for over 15 years, in the UK and internationally. Leah brings a wide range of experience to the position, and a passion for community action, social justice and volunteerism.
Speaking about her new role, Leah said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue working with Action Hampshire in this leading role. I know first-hand the incredible work the Action Hampshire team does supporting the work of the sector and the many community, voluntary and social enterprise organisations across the county and beyond. There has never been a time when our sector has had such a critical role to play in championing the work of local people and organisations which make our communities stronger. I look forward to building on the strength of Action Hampshire’s first 70 years as we look ahead to the future.”
Mike Southgate, Chair of the Board of Trustees added “We are delighted to appoint Leah into her new role, she demonstrated the passion, commitment and vision to lead the organisation at this crucial time. There is a great deal to be done over the next few years to address the challenges the not-for-profit sector faces in supporting local communities – many of which have been exacerbated by the Covid 19 pandemic and other pressures. I am looking forward to working with Leah and her team to tackle these challenges. I would also like to thank Kate Shurety for all her assistance and direction as Interim CEO. I am pleased she has agreed to join the board when her current role finishes. We continue to look for additional trustees notably with a financial background.”
