Hampshire Independent Equality Forum

The Hampshire Independent Equality Forum (HIEF) is a united county-wide network of diverse not-for-profit groups and individuals. It was initiated by a Big Lottery funded partnership led by Action Hampshire, and aims to:

  • Raise awareness of the issues faced by diverse individuals and communities
  • Empower individuals to feel able to challenge discrimination
  • Work in partnership with service providers to influence and improve service provision (eg. healthcare, police, and transport).

Membership is free and open to organisations and individuals. Members have the opportunity to:

  • Make new contacts and share resources and best practice
  • Work in direct partnership with service providers to influence and improve services so that they better meet needs (eg. NHS, police, councils)
  • Share experiences on issues of inequality, and influence change
  • Receive training and information about a range of equality and diversity matters
  • Contribute to a better understanding of equality, diversity and human rights in Hampshire
