Building Better Opportunities Inspiring Enterprise Project
A new project to help budding entrepreneurs in the M3 corridor has been launched thanks to a significant grant secured from the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund (ESF).
The Inspiring Enterprise programme, part of Building Better Opportunities (BBO), will support those looking to set up enterprises, social enterprises or become self-employed. The programme is being delivered by Action Hampshire, Surrey Community Action and University of Winchester, with WSX Enterprise as the lead partner.
The programme is targeting the unemployed, lone parents, people with disabilities and people in minority groups and will be delivered along the M3 Corridor. The corridor runs from Southampton to the M25 and includes Winchester, Andover, Alton, Farnham, Basingstoke, Farnborough, Camberley, Woking, Bracknell and everywhere in between.
If you are not in paid work of any kind (this includes zero-hours contracts) or your organisation works with such people, then please get in touch for more info.
The School for Social Entrepreneurs Hampshire, of Action Hampshire, will be delivering a programme aimed to promote social enterprise in the region. We have over five years of experience delivering social enterprise support in Hampshire and believe it has the power to bring positive change to individuals and communities.
We will be running free workshops for individuals and groups with the aim of giving them the skills needed to create and run a social enterprise. This could include marketing techniques, finance management and governance advice. We will also be running social enterprise network events as a means of matching participants with potential mentors and to inspire the next generation of social entrepreneurs.
If you or your service users would benefit from this support or have an interest in social enterprise, get in touch.
