We are collecting information on all not-for-profit groups operating in Portsmouth. (By not-for-profit, we mean all community groups, charities and social enterprises). We just want to know what you do, who you support, and where you do it.
There is no complete picture of all the voluntary activity happening in Portsmouth. If someone needs support, it is very difficult for them to know where to turn first. The data we are collecting will enable Ordnance Survey to create an interactive map of voluntary activity in Portsmouth. This will be freely available on a website, so the public can find the support and information that they need.
We are asking all community groups, charities and social enterprises to fill in these 9 simple questions (it will take less than 5 minutes).
What’s in it for your organisation?
The quick answer is … lots!
- Your organisation can be quickly and easily found by users, commissioners, or potential partners
- You can avoid service duplication
- You can see service gaps
- You can use the information as evidence for funding bids
- You will be able to update or correct your information
- You will be part of a new idea that can be duplicated by other parts of the country
For larger organisations
We are asking larger organisations to please complete one questionnaire for each distinct project. So, if you have distinct services that do completely different things for different people e.g. a generalist advice service, a re-housing service for ex-offenders, and a refuge for victims of domestic violence, we would ask you to please fill in a survey for each different project. This is the only way that we can capture your full range of services and beneficiaries.
Many thanks for your co-operation. It will take you less than 5 minutes, but the potential impact for Portsmouth and its not-for-profit organisations is huge.
If you have any queries or need assistance with completing the questionnaire, please email Liz or call 023 9282 2795.
