Portsmouth Voluntary and Community Network

“The voice of a strong and vibrant voluntary and community sector working together to build a better Portsmouth”

The Portsmouth Voluntary and Community Network (PVCN) empowers and represents voluntary and community organisations to work in partnership; helping to shape a vibrant, inclusive and thriving voluntary and community sector.

PVCN is our network that represents not-for-profit organisations in Portsmouth, whereby we can carry out consultations, representation, lobbying and campaigning and make sure that the voice of the sector is heard.

The Network offers representation to the key partnerships such as Public Service Board, Children’s Trust Board and Safer Portsmouth Partnership and any other multi-agency body where the voice of the VCS is required.

It is recognised as the mechanism for engagement with the not-for-profit sector and is regularly attended by representatives from Portsmouth City Council.

PVCN brings together representatives from a range of voluntary sector networks, including:

  • adult social care
  • learning and enterprise
  • advice and advocacy
  • disability and independent living
  • children, young people & families (Children & Young People’s Alliance)
  • older people (Portsmouth Forum for Older People’s Groups)
  • community engagement
  • faith communities
  • minority groups
  • Healthwatch Portsmouth
