The Portsmouth Children & Young People’s Alliance for voluntary and community organisations host regular valuable networking and briefing events and on 12 June 2014 we were delighted to be joined by a variety of speakers who provided updates and presentations on the following:

SEND Reforms: The Government has recently introduced a major transformation of the way services for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are delivered. Julia Katherine (Child Support Commissioning Manager) and Richard Harvey (Programme Lead – Child Support Services – Education and Strategic Directorate) gave an update on what changes are coming into place and what you need to know to ensure your service users understand how it effects them.

Positive Family Futures Transformation: Work has started in the Paulsgrove/Wymering area for the Positive Family Futures Transformation programme. The objective of the programme is to transform the way current services and lead professionals work together. James Hill (Troubled Families Coordinator) gave an update on what has happened so far and what will happen moving forward.

HealthWatch Portsmouth: Carol Elliott, Head of Development at Learning Links provided an update on HealthWatch and why it is important they engage with the voluntary and community sector.
