Reinier Limonte - Cubano Beach Club
Reinier is presently on the Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Programme. Here are the latest developments on his enterprise.
On January 17th 2015 Cubano Beach Club opened its doors on its new adventure. The social enterprise supported by the SSE Hampshire Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Programme enabled the club to open with a bang. Reinier Limonte, originally from Cuba, wanted to bring some vibrancy and life to the community of Fratton.
He transformed the derelict shop into two floors of Caribbean themed dance studios, complete with disco and sound equipment. The opening weekend saw the Deputy Lord Mayor cut the red tape with over 200 people attending the free event.
The venue now runs a variety of classes for all ages, with a special focus on children’s educational and dance content. The mini-discos have been a massive hit for young mums and toddlers and local nurseries are booking up the pre-school drama and Spanish classes to add educational value to their syllabuses.
The profits subsidise reduced pricing making the classes affordable to all. The venue will be running regular charity events to support local causes. Reinier is delighted with his first week in business and is overwhelmed with the feedback he has received on Cubano Beach Clubs Facebook page
