Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme
Gigabit vouchers can be used by small businesses and surrounding communities to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit capable connection. As part of its commitment to a vision of a full fibre Britain, the government has set up a £67m Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
Businesses can claim up to £3k against the cost of connection either individually or as part of a group project. Residents can claim a voucher worth £500 as part of a group project.
The scheme is only accessible through broadband service providers who have registered to be part of the scheme. The first step, therefore, is to check whether there are suppliers in your area by doing a postcode search on the website. You can also check if you are eligible on the website.
Hampshire County Council is keen to encourage small businesses across the county to register. Although the application deadline is March 2021, money will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
