Member of the Month // Friday Night Club
Friday Night Club aims to improve the wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues through activities that help them feel valued, and be valued, within their community.
FNC has steadily grown; having established in 2008 as a voluntary group, they converted to a CIC in 2016. FNC now have over 100 people attending one or more of the activities offered.
FNC have activities running most days of the week throughout the year at different venues which are run by our volunteers and individual’s own support staff.
In addition to monthly Club Nights for socialising, FNC also organise
- Arts, Crafts, and Music Sessions
- visits to Knowle Haven which includes archery and off-roading
- Lifestyles Catering Group
- trips to Wey and Arun Canal
FNC have recently been granted several acres of land on which to build a small outdoor activity centre, to provide activities such as archery, a horticultural group and a track for off-road buggies. Pending planning permission, FNC are also looking to set up a marquee, which they would like to share with other groups and partners. Their challenge for this year is to fundraise to make their plans into reality.
