General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - what you need to know

18.07.17

GDPR – the General Data Protection Regulation – will come into force in May 2018 and will supersede current data protection legislation. It represents a substantial change to current legislation and there is no significant exemption for charities. It is also not just about fundraising. We all need to be prepared for it and to have considered how it is relevant to our own organisation and what we are going to do to comply with it.

Action Hampshire recently hosted a very useful GDPR seminar, by Paris Smith. The presentation from this event, which can be viewed by clicking on the link below, outlines the current data protection regulations, what changes GDPR involves and the steps organisations need to take in order to be ‘GDPR ready’.
