Rural Communities Matter

22.02.17

Our local Police and Crime Commissioner has organised five conferences on the topic of ‘Rural Communities Matter’. The main aim of these events was to gather viewpoints and concerns from people with an interest in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight countryside – chiefly people who live and / or work in rural areas. This will all be fed into a multi-year strategy for rural crime reduction and community safety.

But there was also plenty of information about what Hampshire Constabulary is already doing to make Hampshire’s rural areas safer.

Country Watch

This is Hampshire Constabulary’s team of officers focused on reducing rural crime and keeping rural residents and businesses informed about crime-related issues. The Police Force’s website has guidance on crime prevention covering five broad issues: equipment security, estate security, heritage crime, illegal activity (eg fly tipping), and wildlife crime.

More details about the Country Watch team are online here; you can also call 101 or email them

Finally, you can register for email news bulletins on a wide range of issues relevant to your location by clicking the ‘Register’ button near the top of the Hampshire Country Watch website.
