New guidance for community halls

We have three new information and guidance booklets for village halls, community centres, and other organisations that run community buildings. They cover:

  • Making your community building accessible
  • Community buildings and social clubs
  • Equality issues for community buildings

These booklets are primarily written with village halls in mind but many of the issues apply just the same to any organisation that manages a community building.

They form part of a set of booklets covering a wide range of topics for trustees and staff of community buildings. All the booklets are free by email for Action Hampshire members. See the full set on the Action Hampshire website, which also has details of how to become an Action Hampshire member.

Remember – a new booklet on data protection for community halls was released in February. Get this booklet if you are at all confused by the new data protection rules coming into effect on 25 May. It doesn’t have all the answers, but it will set you going in the right direction!

To receive any or all of the booklets, please email us or call 01962 857358. You can also download them from our message board and file-sharing space on Basecamp – again, email us for access to this.
