Churches to boost rural IT connectivity

The Church of England and the Government have signed an accord to promote more use of church property for digital infrastructure – masts and other equipment that will bring better internet access and mobile phone signals to rural areas.

There has already been some work in this regard. The Dioceses of Norwich and Chelmsford have been working to bring better facilities to their rural parishes since 2011 and 2013 respectively.

See the Government website for details of the agreement, and encourage your local church to explore these options with the Diocese. The Church of England has guidance on installing digital connectivity equipment in churches here.
