Children and vulnerable adults in community buildings - new guide

09.09.14

Trustees and managers of community buildings need to ensure that children, young people and vulnerable adults are safe in their building. This is the case whether or not your organisation actually manages any of the activities taking place in the building.

ACRE has revised its guidance for community halls on this important matter, and subscribers to Action Hampshire’s Community Buildings Advice Service can access this guidance from our Community Buildings Adviser.

This is an important issue for all community halls and buildings, but especially so if you are thinking about applying for grants. An increasing number of grant-making bodies are insisting that all their applicants have a safeguarding policy which explains what they do to keep vulnerable users safe.
