Celebrate your village hall!
Next week (22-26 January) is Village Halls Week. Join the ACRE network and rural communities across England in celebrating the vital part that village halls play in making their local community a great place to live.
Village halls host a huge range of activities from Art classes to Zumba, and everything in between. Services for local people; social, leisure, and learning activities; entertainment such as theatre and music – all in community venues largely run by dedicated volunteers.
Show off examples of good things happening at your hall either next week or in the recent past. Tell us what’s happening by emailing Kevin and if you can include a quotation from the group / activity organiser or a user, then even better! We’ll mention this in a news release for local media to highlight some of the great things taking place in Hampshire’s village halls.
Spread the news in any way you can! Please let your local MP, Councillors and other relevant people know what’s happening. Share this news item with them and link to national publicity on the ACRE website. And if you can, please mention Village Halls Week on your own website, Facebook page, on Twitter (#VillageHallsWeek) or whatever news channels you use.
